Hempel Cruising Performer Antifouling 2.5L | 7168E

Hempel’s Cruising Performer is a high performance, self-polishing antifouling providing excellent protection all season. For use as an antifouling for boats of glass fibre, wood, plywood and steel. Do not use on aluminium or other light-alloy metals. Risk of corrosion in case of direct contact.

• High mechanical strength for excellent crack resistance
• Great colour retention all season
• Can be applied via brush, roller & paint pad
• Recommended thinner & cleaner: Hempel Thinners No. 3

• Touch dry after 15 min at 20°C
• Surface dry after 4 hours at 20°C

How do I prepare a surface for the Hempel Cruising Performer?

New Build

1. Remove salts, detergents, contaminants & marine growth by high pressure fresh water cleaning.
2. Prime prepared surface with Hempel’s Light Primer.
3. Apply a tie coat of Hempel’s Underwater Primer while surface is still tacky.

Existing Self-Polishing / Traditional Antifouling

1. Remove loose matter & contaminants by high pressure fresh water cleaning.

Existing Hard Matrix / Unknown Antifouling

1. Remove salts, detergents, contaminants & marine growth by high pressure fresh water cleaning.
2. Wet abrade.
3. Remove dust.
4. Clean & dry the surface
5. If condition of previous antifoul is poor, seal with 1 coat of Hempel’s Underwater Primer.
